SABRE OF THE ITALIAN CAVALRY, model 1871Steel blade, with a wide groove and a fuller on both sides, blade at the back slightly rounded. Long yelmen. Basket hilt, made of steel, at the base profiled for the thumb. Grip made of wood, plain, covered at the top with steel, corrugated pommel and withbackpiece. Sheath made of steel with one locket and a ring. On the mouthpiece stamped number: P2201.
Lenght of the blade: 89,5 cm; width of the blade at the base: 2,7 cm; thickn. of the back of the blade: 0,7 cm; overall lenght: 105,8 cm; lenght with the sheath: 109,7 cm

POLISH CAVALRY SABRE, FOR PRIVATES, mod. 1934
Blade made of steel, nickeled, with a wide groove and single fuller at the back of the blade. On the right side of the blade stamped “S.wz.34”, on the left one “H.LUDWIKÓW/KIELCE”. On the back of the bladea signature: “K/2” written in oval, and “B2476”. Hilt made of brass, with knuckle-guard, made according to regulations, attached to the pommel. Grip made of wood with notches. One of the hilt quillons straight with a hole. Sheath made of steel with one locket and a ring. The sheath signed “K/2” in oval, and “B3744”
Overall lenght: 99,5 cm, lenght of the blade: 82 cm, width of the blade: 3,2 cm

POLISH CAVALRY OFFICER’S SABRE, MODEL 21/22Steel, nickled blade, with three fullers running through the 2/3 of the lenght of the blade. On the right side floral motifs, etched Polish national emblem – Eagle with the crown, and inscription: “HONOR i OJCZYZNA”. At the base of the blade a signature: “BOROWSKI / WARSZAWA”. Handle with a brass hilt. Grip with notches, covered with black leather and twisted with double copper wire. Sheath made of steel, nickled, with two lockets and rings.
Lenght of the blade: 87 cm; curvature: 7,7 cm; overall lenght: 100 cm;

Warning: sabres of this type were and still are widely falsified! Because of the simple technique and easiness of getting the same kind of material, the good fakes are hard to recognize!

AUSTRIAN INFANTRY OFFICER’S SABRE, M. 1861Steel blade, with a wide groove and a single fuller running near the back of the blade. On one side signature: WEYERSBERG / STAMM / SOLINGEN”. Closed hilt, one of the quillons with openwork; oval pommel, grip covered with shagreen leather with nine notches, twisted with double wire. Knot attached. Sheath made of steel, with one locket.
Width of the blade: 2,5 cm; curvature: 1,7 cm; overall lenght: 95,5 cm;
Sabres of this model were used also by the Polish officers in the Polish Legions in 1914-1917

SABRE OF THE FRENCH MOUNTED ARTILLERY PRIVATES, m. 1829Steel blade with a wide groove and a single fuller. On the back of the blade an inscription: “MANUFACTURE DE CHATELLERAULT AOUT 1832”. At the base of the blade stamped “W” in circle (after inspector S. Wiedman, 1830-36) and “R” in circle after director of the manufacture, Raulin (1830-34). Hilt closed, made of brass, grip covered with leather, cut into 15 notches and twisted with double wire. On the knuckleguard repeated stamps from the blade with military numbers. Sheath made of steel with two lockets.

SABRE OF THE FRENCH INFANTRY OFFICER’S, M. 1845Blade made of steel, with narrow, dividing groove, and with a single fuller. On the back of the blade engraved inscription: “MANUFRE KLINGENTHAL COULOUX & Cie”. At the base of the blade stamped letters: “D”, “B” under a crown, after inspectors from the years 1838-1860. Basket hilt, partially openworked with floral decoration. Pommel decorated with floral design. Grip covered with leather and cut into 14 notches. Sheath covered with black leather and with brass fittings.
Lenght of the blade: 73,2 cm, width of the blade: 2,8 cm, curvature: 0,8 cm, overall lenght: 87 cm
